Powertrain Construction
The engine block is made using cast-iron with a forged-steel crankshaft containing induction-hardened bearings. The technology is able to withstand pressures of 1,595 psi. The engine's air induction system is created to filter four times more dirt and debris than the filtration system currently used in the Raptor.
Power and Performance
The TRX is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® V8 engine that produces 702 horsepower. Start the engine with a push of the button. Change gears using the paddle shifters on the sporty flat-bottom steering wheel or the traditional shifter on the center console. The TRX has a towing capacity rating of 8,100 pounds. The short-size truck bed enables the truck to carry up to 1,310 pounds.
The pickup also has an automatic transmission with eight speeds. Ram 1500 TRX is the first vehicle to feature Launch Control and Launch Assist. The system regulates RPM while monitoring wheel traction in order to enable rapid acceleration.
Off-Road Enhanced
The Ram 1500 TRX has a ground clearance of 11.8 inches and rides on 18-inch wheels covered by 35-inch all-terrain tires. Thanks to the undercarriage design and protection, the pickup easily traverses through up to 32 inches of water.
The uniquely designed suspension has 13 inches of travel in the front and 14 inches in the rear. The pickup is equipped with the new Bilstein BlackHawk shock absorbers, which are the most sophisticated devices of their kind and only available on the Ram 1500 TRX.
Drivers get a unique full-color digital display that enables owners to choose from between eight different modes. Choose from Sport, Snow, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja or Valet model to match the terrain and road conditions.
